Mixing & Blending

British Rema offers mixing, blending, homogenisation and granulation equipment for powder to liquid applications.

From standard powder mixers to custom-built equipment, working on either a batch or continuous basis, British Rema offers economical, versatile equipment in a choice of industry-standard materials. Our equipment meets the rigorous standards of the food, pharmaceutical and speciality chemical industries.

The various blender types are outlined below:

Rotating Shape  (also known as ‘tumbling action’ mixers/blenders)

The tumbling action in a mixer/blender of this type encourages particles to roll, cascade and fall as material is lifted beyond its angle of repose and drops to the free surface. These tumble blender units achieve good mixing for free flowing materials.

Different types within this category are: Single and Double Cone BlenderV-Shape BlendersCage (Batch) Blenders and Octagonal Blenders

Vertical Cone Blender/Dryer

With this type of mixer, the mixing screw rotates on its own axis and continually lifts and spreads fresh material through the mixer in an upward motion. This mixer may also be used to dry the product whilst simultaneously mixing.

Ribbon Blender

Suitable for small batch applications, material is mixed in a trough by means of an agitator. The resultant mixing is gentle but with good shear and impaction. Different types within this category are: Ribbon (Double Helix) Blenders and Planetary Mixers .

High Shear Dry Mixer/Wet Granulator

This versatile in-line mixer is suitable for both dry mixing and wet granulation operations, handling from coarse to medium dry particle sizes down to sub-micron particles and droplets. Optional configurations of this equipment using single and multi-stage rotors and stators respectively can produce emulsions and suspensions to very exacting specifications.
